Flexiweld S: the solution for precasters worldwide!
The precast industry is growing and becoming increasingly popular, with many countries adopting different approaches depending on their needs and available resources.
South East Asia, particularly India, is experiencing significant growth in the sector, driven by rapid urbanisation and the need to build quickly and efficiently; precasters in this region have raised their quality standards and require increasingly advanced equipment to produce welded mesh autonomously.

AWM accepted the challenge of a leading customer in producing precast concrete elements who needed to produce solid and sandwich walls in high quantities for an important residential construction project. These elements usually require custom-made welded mesh in different shapes, sizes and diameters, mesh with openings for doors and windows and bends at both ends.
AWM recently built and installed a Flexiweld S plant at the customer's premises to meet this requirement, enhancing and modernising its production.
Flexiweld S is a plant designed to produce mesh for flat precast elements, such as walls and slabs, and welded mesh with openings for doors and windows.
Plant operators immediately experienced many benefits:
- High productivity: the total automation of the plant, combined with a chain system, guarantees continuous production without downtime during unloading; this results in greater efficiency and a significant reduction in downtime.
- Top & Bottom welding system: One of the key strengths of the Flexiweld S is that it allows the line wires to be welded both above and below the cross wires; this reduces the footprint of the mesh pack by 25%, thus optimising storage space and improving internal logistics.
- Reduced factory space: The compact layout of Flexiweld S takes up less space than other solutions on the market, allowing for easier installation and more efficient space management within the factory.
- High flexibility: Flexiweld S has 10 dedicated straightening lines for different diameters and allows mesh production with any geometry or combination of diameters. This flexibility allows mesh manufacturers to adapt to market demands and offer tailor-made products quickly.
