ArcelorMittal choose Schnell for the Zenica plant
ArcelorMittal continues to invest in the Zenica mill not only in the maintenance and revisions, but also in increasing the production capacity and the environmental protection, especially in dust emission reduction projects.
The company’s CEO, Mr. Biju Nair, has expressed satisfaction with these projects "For the citizens of Zenica it is important to know that ArcelorMittal invests in the best and most advanced environmental protection technology. In addition to the two environmental protection projects, ArcelorMittal Zenica continues with significant investments to increase the production capacity. The new project, entrusted to SCHNELL S.p.A., includes the installation of a new line at the Factory for Construction Armature in Valjaonica whose completion is scheduled for January 2019.
The most important and emblazoned European manufacturing companies of machines for the production of electro-welded mesh participated in the competition for the assignment of the project and the partner selection criteria by which ArcelorMittal will work for the coming years have been numerous.
The first criteria took into consideration was the technical characteristics of the machines and the expected productions. The second criteria concern the logistics solutions built upon a thorough study of the plant layout; and finally the environmental protection that has become an important goal for ArcelorMittal and which Schnell has always pursued since the adoption of servomotors making its machines reliable, accurate, fast, low-noise, environmentally friendly.
The project includes the installation of the cold rolling line COLDRIVE MV 4/12, which will guarantee a constant and high quality coil production, and that of the Mesh Line CC 2500F which will ensure the production level required by ArcelorMittal.
"With the installation of Schnell plant, the mesh production in this factory will double," said ArcelorMittal's sales deputy, Alena Kahrimanovic.
Mr. Loriano Rossetti, Member of the Board of Directors and Schnell S.p.A.
